Letters

3 September 1943

Dearest,
I simply must have some money right away ($3.00 to $5.00; don't know how much I'll need), because pay-day this time isn't until the 10th or 15th. I'm broke now. It just dribbles away. Still don't love it, but guess the Army is getting a little better for me. Getting a little more used to it, maybe. Haven't heard from you the past week! Miss those letters. What's the matter? Too busy, maybe. Got immunization shot for typhoid, one for tetanus and small-pox vacination yesterday. All at one time.
Love, Melvin
