Letters

14 September 1944

Dearest,
The WW2 Letters of Private Melvin W. Johnson -READ VMAIL Received your August letters number 7 and 8 yesterday. Also one from O.K. Also got another box of candy from Gus. It had been on the way for some time. All I need now is that coffee. You don't know how big a demand there is for it among us GI's. We normally receive a small package (enough for 1/2 canteen full) of coffee a day, but could easily drink three times that much. Censorship cramps my style. There're thousands of things I'd like to write about but can't. By the way, ask Jake Brosy where he was. I'm still O.K. and feeling as well as could be expected under the circumstances. Sure miss you and the baby. Oh, yes, let me know when you receive the $75.00 I had sent home some time ago.
Love, Melvin.
